Clough Just Happy To Win

Given the history between the Clough family and Leeds, and in particular after memories of this were stirred up with The Damned United film, many would expected Nigel Clough to take special pleasure from beating Leeds on Saturday.

However, the Derby boss insisted that the 2-1 win at Elland Road didn't give him any more satisfaction than any other win and he was just happy with the three points.

"The result didn't give me any special satisfaction because of my dad's time at Leeds.

I thought it was a very good, solid performance. It was an encouraging performance, but there is still a long way to go."

Clough was talking after the Leeds match.

The Rams boss might not be letting on in public that it meant anymore to him than any other match, however, I'm sure privately that he got a little bit of extra pleasure from this really!
