Preview: Bournemouth vs. Derby County

Preview: Bournemouth vs. Derby County

After a win against Burton Albion and a draw against Southend United, Derby County will look to build on a reasonable start to pre-season in their fixture against Bournemouth, recently promoted to League One in third place after a final day victory against Burton.

Russell Anderson will miss out on the Dean Court fixture after suffering concussion in the match against Southend United. It is not believed to be a serious problem. Stephen Pearson, Jake Buxton, Miles Addison, Steven Davies and Shaun Barker will all sit out the friendly although Chris Porter could well make an appearance after recovering from a hip injury.

Cherries midfielder Josh McQuoid is high on confidence after his side held managerless Europa League finalists Fulham to a draw. Here are his thoughts on playing another higher division side: 'I'm now looking forward to the Derby game and that will be a tough test. This is what pre season is all about, testing yourself against the big clubs. We are going to come up against some big clubs in the forthcoming season and we have to deal with that and as we showed against Fulham, we are more than capable of dealing with that pressure.'

Kick off: Wed 21 July, 7.45pm, Dean Court
