New signing Tomasz Cywka is looking forward to the new season and says it is the biggest of his fledgling career so far after becoming a permanent addition to Nigel Clough`s squad. After joining on loan towards the end of March the Polish Under-21 international made a couple of appearances from the bench before starting the final four matches of the season where he showed some neat touches and a bursts of creativity that had been missing with Kris Commons being out of the side. Whilst there were only glimpses of his potential in this period there was enough for Clough to work to bring him to Pride Park and he looked to have the potential to be a fans` favourite with the crowd reacting well to him. Cywka told the Derby Evening Telegraph:
'That gave me confidence and happiness because it is great. Football would not matter without the fans, we go to the stadium every week to play for them. If they enjoy how I play, that is great and that gives me an extra boost to try and be better every week.'
Cywka declined a new deal with Wigan Athletic and instead chose the switch to Pride Park signing a two year contract citing the increased chance of first team football as one of the main reasons behind his decision. Nigel Clough believes that The Rams can help him develop as a player and he told the DET:
'Tomasz isn't the finished article by any means but he has plenty of talent and potential. We're confident he can develop with us and become a very good player."
