Billy Davies arrives at Derby

New rams boss arrived at Derby's moor farm training ground today to meet the local press and to set out his goals for the future, looking resplendant in a dark blue suit and wearing a black and white scaff, davies said he was 'Delighted to be here, great things have been said about this club' 'my job is to now focus on the football side'

Chairman Peter Gadsby said "Mike Horton has been the key figure in the appointment of Billy Davies, the appointment has been done professionally and was thorough"

Horton thanked the media and the fans for their patience. "our expectations are that we will sit down with Billy and discuss (the future of DCFC) with him" said director Mike Horton

Davies said that "I was impressed with the whole club it has massive potential, it was time for a change and I didn`t feel there was a bigger challenge than Derby County" "we are looking forward now to the future looking to take the club forward - I`m looking forward to the challenge ahead" he went on to talk about his assistant "I haven`t decided yet it is something I have to discuss with the board of directors" talking about PNE "I was disappointed with how things went at Preston but I want to look forward now"

He wouldn't be drawn on which players he may bring from Preston though!!!

He'll be gone as soon as a bigger club comes along, you mark my words. He's a bad egg interested in himself and himself only. We gave him his big chance and haven't had a word of thanks. A legend on the touchline and a nightmare in the back rooms.

Still sichio, some clubs would be happy with "legend on the touchline", because of the lack of success in the recent past.
