Miles Addison will still be involved with The Rams` first team despite being a long way from fitness after surgery on a foot problem in March. Despite his return to Moor Farm to start his rehabilitation reports suggest he could still be up to twelve months away from a return to first team action. Nigel Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph that he still wanted the England Under 21 international to be around the first team squad:
'He'll come with us on a few things during pre-season and although he can't actually work with the players, he can still be around them and we'll keep him involved as much as we can.'
Addison has been joined in an early return to training by Shaun Barker, Dean Leacock, Steve Davies and Kris Commons as they all look to build up their fitness ready for the return of the rest of the squad on 1st July for the start of pre-season training. Clough believes that Addison is young enough to come back from what will be a lengthy spell on the sideline adding:
'Miles knows that when he comes back, he's still got 10 years of playing ahead of him and that must help, too. It would be a difficult situation for a 30-year-old, because you would be thinking: 'Can I get back?' but he is young enough to do it.'
