Elland Road On Opening Day

Today saw the release of the fixtures for the new nPower Championship season and it`s Leeds United up first for Nigel Clough`s side on August 7th as The Rams visit Elland Road to welcome the Yorkshire side back into the Championship in a game that could see former Ram Paul Connolly make his debut for his new side.

Other fixtures of note include the Boxing Day clash with Doncaster Rovers at Pride Park and the two eagerly awaited clashes with Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on 28th December and the return at Pride Park on 22nd January.

The draw for the third round of the League Cup, re-branded the EFL Cup this season, has been made with us among those finding out who we will be coming up against.

Rams Through After Shoot-out

Derby Count advanced to round three of he EFL Cup after a penalty shoot-out victory over Carlisle United following a 1-1 draw at the iPro Stadium. The League Two side saw more of the ball in the first half without causing Scott Carson any issues and Darren Bent put The Rams in front just before the hour mark after Nick Blackman`s effort was tipped onto the bar. Mike Jones equalised five minutes into added time with a long range effort and neither side could find the winner in the added period.
