Tonge Told He Can Leave Stoke
I expect that Nigel Clough would have been alerted to the news that Michael Tonge has been told that he can leave Stoke.
Tonge enjoyed a successful loan spell at Pride Park this season and Clough has already said he would like to bring the midfielder back to the club next season if a deal could be arranged. Stoke boss Tony Pulis has told Tonge, and some other players, that he's free to leave the Premier League side if the right offer comes in.
I'm sure that another loan switch to the Rams would be preferred by Clough, however Stoke would probably prefer to sell the former Sheffield United midfielder and our interest would depend on what the asking price was.
