This Sums Up Our Luck!

We're just not having any luck with injuries this season are we? When one player gets over something another seems to pick up an injury to replace them on the treatment table, sometimes for this one recovery we could see more than one then go down with injury or illness.

Our season of injuries was summed up perfectly by the latest sustained by our number two goalkeeper Saul Deeney though. Totally out of the blue, for something that shouldn't have happened to happen makes you think that we've done something to wrong someone!

Deeney, signed by Nigel Clough in the summer to act as back up for Stephen Bywater, was all set to take his place on the substitutes bench for the match against Swansea when a freak accident not only ruled him out of that match but will now rule him out for four-six weeks!

A fire alarm went off at the Rams' hotel on Thursday evening and when Deeney went outside with the rest of the squad he slipped on the wet floor, as it was pouring with rain, and has twisted or sprained his ankle. Early X-rays point to him being out for up to six weeks, but further tests will be carried out next week.
