Barker: Time To Build After Break

Derby go into the upcoming international break with a much needed win and Shaun Barker feels that this was exactly what we needed so we'll be able to enjoy this more now.

The 2-1 victory over Coventry last Friday ended a run of three straight defeats and the 27-year-old now feels this gives us something to build on but we must make sure that we do build on this after the break.

"It takes us into the break with a little bit of a boost and hopefully after the break we can kick on and start climbing the table.

It's massive, not only for the players and the staff but for the fans too.

Having had a few bad results recently, it was nice to get back to winning ways in front of our own fans."

Barker was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

We face a tough match when the Championship schedule does return though as we face Swansea, who are never an easy opponent. For the minute though we can enjoy this break knowing that some of the pressure has been released, however we can't become complacent, as if we do that we'll soon end up going on another poor run!
