Vokes Still A Loan Option For Rams?

Sam Vokes, who was linked with a deadline day move to Derby if Rob Hulse had left for Middlesbrough could still come to Pride Park in a loan capacity?

The 19-year-old Wolves striker is someone that Mick McCarthy plans to loan out if he can.

"We'll see what happens when everyone gets back from the international duty. Sam really needs to play some football.

There was half a chance he could have gone out last week.

For him to develop and for us to benefit he has to play regularly.

Sam has had a meteoric rise from Bournemouth and for him to improve he's got to play some football so there's a chance he can go out."

McCarthy was talking to the official Wolves website.

The Welsh international's move to Pride Park was called off when Hulse opted against a move to the Riverside but the striker is still being linked in a loan capacity, with Newcastle and Middlesbrough also believed to be interested in Vokes.

Ram boss Nigel Clough has already played down our chances of signing anyone on loan during the loan window, but is this just Clough playing his cards close to his chest?
