Clough: We Went Down Fighting

Derby were able to put up a fight against Forest on Saturday, that pleased Nigel Clough, but it wasn't enough as we went down 3-2 at the City Ground.

Clough thought that we were unlucky to go in 3-0 down at half time.

"I thought we were a little unfortunate to come in 3-0 at half-time having created two one-on-one chances ourselves and had a goal disallowed.

It wasn't as if our goal was getting peppered and our keeper was pulling saves off left, right and centre."

The Rams boss was happy with the fight back though and despite being disappointed at the defeat he was happy with the fight put up.

"We restored a little bit of pride in the second half with an exceptionally good performance and there are positives we can take from the game.

We had a go in the second half and if you are going to go down then you go down fighting and that's what we did."

Clough was talking after the defeat.

The early season bragging rights go to Forest, but who will have the last laugh at the end of the season will be what everyone looks to.
