Clough: That's Better!
Nigel Clough had voiced his concerns at the numbers of goals we had been conceding, so he was understandably pleased with a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw at Blackpool on Tuesday.
We had chances, but then so did Blackpool but Clough was pleased with a point.
"I'm very pleased, it was a much improved performance.
Kris Commons did really well and our keeper Steve Bywater made a superb stop to keep us in the game. The whole side looked a lot sharper.
I thought we missed out on a few free-kicks around the Blackpool penalty area but with the improvement I feel we are well set up for Saturday's game."
Clough was talking to the BBC.
It takes a little while for a team to fully gel and get into gear, but full match fitness (and sharpness) will be gained more and more with each match played and this was a good point and a good sign that, like Clough says, sets us up for the weekend.
