Barnes Crocked Again!

Giles Barnes is facing another long spell on the injury sidelines with it confirmed that he'll undergo surgery on his ruptured Achilles tendon.

The 20-year-old sustained his latest injury setback late in the 2-2 pre-season draw with Stoke on Saturday, however no timeline is being put on how long Barnes will be out for.

"We are not prepared to put a time frame on how long Giles will be out at this stage until after the operation."

A club spokesman was talking to the official website.

Barnes has suffered injury after injury over the past two-years, with the vast majority serious and long-term setbacks, which has seen him restricted to just 18 starts and 11 substitute appearances in this time.

A once promising career, which maybe still could be, has been seriously setback by these injury problems and with Barnes in the final year of his contract at Pride Park the most likely scenario of the midfielder leaving would now seem to be when his contract expires?

It doesn't get any better for Barnes does it? I wonder if we'll ever see him play in a Rams shirt again?
