Deeney Joins Derby

Derby have completed the signing of Saul Deeney after the goalkeeper did enough during his trial period to earn a contract.

Nigel Clough had already told said that the former Burton Albion goalkeeper would be joining us and it's now been confirmed that the 26-year-old, who was in goal during our defeat to his old side on Thursday night, has signed a deal at Pride Park.

Clough is still hoping to bring in another goalkeeper, with Roy Carroll still expected to leave, but his efforts to sign Frank Fielding from Blackburn Rovers appear to have failed?

Cloughie knows him best, so if he thinks he'll do a job if needed then I'm happy enough with that.
