Commons Scores The Winner On His Return

Kris Commons marked his return from a hamstring problem, his first match of pre-season, with the winner in the 3-2 win over Notts County last night.

Jay McEveley scored an own goal to give Notts County the lead but we were soon level when Stephen Davies scored another pre-season goal. Davies was then given the chance to score again but his penalty was missed. Robbie Savage, a rare goal for Sav, scored to send the Rams into the break 2-1 ahead.

Luke Rodgers brought Notts County level in the second half but Commons, on as a 60th minute substitute, struck the winner 10 minutes from time.

I'm amazed there's not a whole bunch of mid-lower Prem sides circling around Commons. Quality Championship player, great all round ability and sure to catch the eye of a few scouts...probably best if he was still injured until 8th August
