'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Once You Pop You Can't Stop!

Like his namesake from the food variety Ben Pringle proved for Derby that once you pop you can't stop as he scored two goals in a 5-1 win over Arnold Town last night.

Pringle, who signed from Ilkeston Town this summer, also set up two goals and was the standout player for Gary Crosby, however the Rams coach thought everyone on display had a good game.

"I thought Ben stood out.

The quality of his crossing, the quality of his two goals and his general work-rate and application was very good.

But I thought the attitude of all the players was spot on from the very first whistle.

There were a lot of good performances and for a lot of them it was their first work out, their first real football for a few months."

Crosby was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

Jermaine Johnson, Aleksander Prijovic and Henrik Ojamaa also scored for a side that had a blend of youth and experience with Roy Carroll, Martin Albrechtsen, Jordan Stewart, Stephen Pearson and Steve Davies all starting.

Tom Erik Nordberg, on trial from Norwegian club Levanger, played in defence and Serbian striker Prijovic, back from a trial with German club Duisberg, also started.

It looks like Pringle is going to be a good young signing. If not we've not really lost much. He get's this season to prove himself in our new youth reserve side.
