It's still not sure if Martin Albrechtsen has been released by Derby or not, some reports said that he had but that doesn't seem to be the case.
The Danish international does look set to leave Pride Park this summer though but is keeping hips options open, however money seems an issue for Albrechtsen.
"There has been interest but they are primarily from the clubs in the Championship.
But the salary at those clubs is far from what I am making now. That's why I chose to wait a little to see if something else comes up.
Of course I would like to play in the Premier League but it will be hard as I have played three years in the Championship.
I am still hoping, but we will see what happens."
Returning to Denmark at this stage of his career isn't likely though.
"That's not where my agent is looking.
The first priority is England, and that's where we are looking now."
Albrechtsen was talking to Onside.
Albrechtsen was signed on a free transfer last summer by Paul Jewell but it's believed that current boss Nigel Clough has already told the defender, despite him playing over 30 Championship matches for us last season, that he's not part of his plans so he's free to leave.
Getting him to do so could prove a problem though, as it seems we're paying Albrechtsen more than other will?
