Hulse To Sit Out Burton Friendly

Nigel Clough has confirmed that Rob Hulse will miss Derby's opening pre-season friendly with Burton on Saturday.

Hulse has a slight groin strain so Clough isn't taking any chances of the striker for the trip to the Pirelli Stadium.

"He will have an injection just to settle it down and he should be training next week.

But he will not be involved on Saturday, there is no point taking any risks at this stage."

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

The 29-year-old felt a problem with his groin in the opening days of pre-season training last week and hasn't trained this week. Clough is right in his thinking, why take any risks at the moment as if we do that we could be without an instrumental player for a lot longer.

No match in meaningless, but this isn't a match that we should take any risks in.
