You're Clough, What Would You Do?

Derby boss Nigel Clough has been open in his admission that he'd like to sign at least two more players, maybe as many as four.

Looking at our squad, after casting aside those that weren't wanted (or needed) it's still looking ok and is more than capable of holding it's own in the Championship, but it looks to be a little short of actually being able to sustain a promotion push.

The goalkeeping area seems fine, but if we do allow anyone else to leave on loan or be sold then we'd need to bring in a replacement, a season loan would look a good option perhaps?

The defence does need to be strengthened, another central defender, maybe even two, is needed.

The midfield doesn't look bad but I'd still think that we need another central midfielder, and someone that has quality about them and experience would also be a benefit. A quality player on loan from a Premier League side would be a very good option.

The forwards aren't really a problem either are they, we're not exactly short of players that are forward, or can play as forwards.

We also have to remember that we do have a lot of good younger players coming through, but these will mainly feature in our new U21 reserve side this season so I'd not expect that many to be featuring that much in the first-team just yet?

Maybe we could, if the players are right and the deals looked at are for the right money, pick up players right through the spine of the side? A goalkeeper, a defender, a midfielder and a forward could do the trick. However I think I'd be making two defenders and a midfielder my priority.

What about you, what would you do, and who and where would you be looking for us to strengthen?

Thanks Kimbo, I think he's going to be a big manager for us, and in the future. No takers in putting forward any ideas?
