Transfer rumour mill starts grinding
With the Premiership season and other major European leagues ending in the next week or two, player transfers will begin almost immediately. Rumour surrounding Derby County has it that Wigan are preparing a bid for Kris Commons in the region of £5m, a tidy return on a free transfer.
On the topic of players in, several players have already been identified; Dean Moxey and Shaun Barker. Several new transfer targets have been identified north of the border in the form of former Leicester and current Motherwell midfielder Stephen Hughes and Hibernian's defender Rob Jones. Both players are reported as also being chased by our rivals up the Brian Clough Way - Nottingham Forest.
The presence of former Motherwell player Chris Porter at the Rams may be a deciding factor in the move for Stephen Hughes.
