'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What will next season bring?

As I sat twiddling my thumbs waiting for the AA last night I began thinking about what next season will bring.. Promotion? Playoffs? Mid-table? Or relegation fight?

I know which one I don't want, but which one do I want? Would automatic promotion make us the laughing stock of the Premiership again? I'm not so sure. Surely we would have learnt a few lessons of our own from the awful season and learnt a few from the likes of Stoke and the early form of Hull City.

How do we get there? Well to start off with, no need to get rid of a few pieces of dead wood; Savage is too old, Teale is getting on to - both great players but we need to start building with some of the great young players we already have such as Addison and Commons and we need to keep Barnes! We need at least 2 new defenders and cut out silly mistakes, we need a creative midfielder and another good striker. Next season I would like to see a more confident attacking minded footballing side, perhaps with a 4, 3, 2, 1 formation with Hulse up top, Commons and Barnes just behind and slightly wide, with 2 midfielders who can join the attacks and 1 who will sit, and a solid back 4 with Bywater in goal. Lets wait and see how the gaffer approaches the subject of who goes and who comes in during the summer and make a good start to the season. Onwards and Upwards!

Goose.
