'If It's Football, It's Vital'

No Deal For O'Keefe

John O'Keefe impressed Nigel Clough during his extended trial with Derby from Blackburn but he's not being offered a contract.

"We just feel Josh would be better suited to go and get a club in League One or League Two and play a full season for somebody rather than be on the fringes here.

"Josh is 20, and like quite a few of our lads, he needs to go and play 30 or 40 games in a season.

"He has impressed us with his attitude, absolutely brilliant. He has been a pleasure to work with."

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

After two-months with Derby Clough has been able to have a close look at the 20-year-old midfielder in training, and the reserves, but if O'Keefe's not going to offer us anything extra then it's the right call to let him move on.
