'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Same Old Same Old For Rams

Once again it was the same problem for Derby on Monday with our defeat against title chasing Wolves. This problem again being our poor defending let us down during the 3-2 defeat.

"I think some of the things we did in the second half were either very, very good or very, very bad - and the bad things cost us the goals.

"If you look at the three goals we conceded, I thought they were all avoidable.

"There were some poor decisions and poor defending. And I don't think we did enough with our chances."

Nigel Clough admitted that we are struggling over the finishing line to safety, limping along is how he put it and that sums things up perfectly really.

"We went to Sheffield United and played well but conceded four, went to Cardiff and played well but conceded four, and played well against Wolves but conceded three.

"That is what it's like at the moment and we are limping along to the end of the season.

"We just need another win or a couple of draws to get us safe. Anything will do."

Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

If we could learn to defend better, and made more of our chances, we would've beaten Wolves, as we would've so many sides recently to have been safe by now beyond any doubt. As it is we still have that slight worry as we are five points away from the final relegation place (which Forest hold) with three matches to play.

Pride Park saw its biggest crowd of the season on Easter Monday, so this is encouraging and if we can sort out our problems over the final three matches, and more importantly over the summer, then we will see bigger crowds every week next season.
