Clough: We Deserved The Point

Clough: We Deserved The Point

Nigel Clough felt that we deserved the point that we got against Burnley after a late equaliser earned us a 1-1 draw.

"We think we deserved it over the course of the game. We felt we more than matched them for long periods.

"We are really pleased with the way we went about it today and it's another game chalked off.

The point also inches Derby ever closer to the 50 points that Clough thinks we need to ensure Championship safety, which is probably already assured by you can't take anything for granted.

"We are in a better position than we were before the game and we are creeping towards that 50-points mark."

Clough was talking after the Burnley match.

Paul Connolly's late diving header did get us the point that as Clough said we deserved, had we been beaten it would have been almost criminal and would also have had a few slightly concerned about relegation again, something that I think we are just about safe from anyway.
