Nigel Clough has revealed how much he is glad to have Stephen Pearson available for selection again, and he looks forward to working with the midfielder.
"He has had no reaction and the international break is ideal for him so he can do 10 days of good training and be in contention for the next match.
"We have been looking forward to getting him on the pitch and involved.
"Stephen can offer us something a bit different. He showed when he came on against Barnsley that he can get up and down the pitch. He is very comfortable playing a variety of roles from central midfield."
Clough was talking to the Evening Telegraph.
The Scottish international made his return from a long-term knee injury as a substitute in the Barnsley match before the international break, and we'll all now be hoping that he can stay fit to build on the good form he was showing earlier in the season before his injury. When Paul Jewell was in charge the 26-year-old looked like he was on his way to Birmingham, but an injury ruined that move but then Pearson did force his way back into Jewell's thoughts before his injury jinx struck again.
If we can keep him fit for the rest of the season he could be a key player for us, and Clough.
