Rams Loan In Watford Midfielder

Derby completed the surprise loan signing of Watford midfielder John Eustace until the end of the season on Monday, much to his delight.

"Obviously I wasn't playing at Watford, and I want to be playing first-team football.

"Derby showed an interest and I jumped at the chance. (Manager) Nigel (Clough) seems to have turned it around. It looks an exciting place to be. There is a quality squad here.

"I've got good experience and hopefully that can help. I'm just raring to go. I am really excited to be here and am going to give 100 per cent."

Eustace was talking to Sky Sports News.

The 29-year-old is a surprise signing as he hadn't featured in the Watford side since December and wouldn't have been on many peoples radars as a player to be brought in, but Nigel Clough has done this and as he hasn't done much wrong since his arrival at Pride Park I will back him on his loan signing of the midfielder as well.

Eustace has since hinted that he would be happy to extend his stay with Derby beyond the end of his loan agreement.
