'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Porter Delighted With Derby Move

Chris Porter's move to Derby will be rubber stamped on Monday, but with the move just awaiting that seal of approval, he has already spoken of his delight at his move from Motherwell.

'This is a brilliant club, the ground is better than anything I've played in before and I'm looking forward to it.

'There were numerous reasons I signed. I came and met the manager, I saw the training facilities, and I was blown away by it all.

'Nigel comes across as a cool-headed, down-to-earth manager and he will turn it around here.

'This is a big club with big history and can only go one way, which will hopefully be to the highest of heights.

'I don't think the football in the Championship is anything too different to what I am used to so hopefully it will be a smooth transition for me here.'

Porter was talking to the official website.

The £400,000 fee for the striker, who arrives on a two-and-a-half year, will be a welcome boost for everyone and we will be hoping he can have an instant impact on our season to ensure we pull away from the relegation zone.

Thats nice to hear, we'll just have to hope that Championship level is also a level he can play at, as that is the level he's going to be at for the forseeable future! Do I sense some sour grapes at not getting him bluebird!
