New Boss To Be Appointed Soon

A new boss is set to be appointed at Derby within the week, and the current favourite is Burton's Nigel Clough.

An approach for Clough has been confirmed and Burton's chairman Ben Robinson has admitted that he would allow him to leave if the chance to manage a side like us came up, even though he doesn't want him to go. Clough has been in charge of Burton for more than a decade and has quietly moved them forward to their current position at the top of the Blue Square Premier, with promotion to the Football League looking likely. The chance to follow in his legendary fathers footsteps at Derby will almost certainly prove too good to refuse.

Clough is being viewed as the favourite, but caretaker-boss Chris Hutchings, Peterborough boss Darren Ferguson and Wrexham's, and former Rams star, Dean Saunders are believed to be the four candidates. Hutchings will do his own chances the world of good if he can guide to a positive result in the Carling Cup Semi Final first leg on Wednesday.

Well done for the Nigel Clough appointment. He may be new to Chamionship management but he has a very level-headed approach and knows how to get the most from players.
