Gradi Rules Out Savage Move

Robbie Savage, still in an apparent state of no return with Derby, has been ruled out of a player-coach role at former club Crewe by club legend Dario Gradi.

'Obviously he has links here having played for Crewe early in his career, but I think that is all a bit tongue in cheek and I can't see it happening.

'I don't think it is a job for someone who hasn't got any experience of management or coaching, and I doubt if the board would consider someone who is inexperienced in that way.'

Crewe are looking for a new manager, with Gradi in temporary charge at Gresty Road again, but even though the 34-year-old Savage is destined for a Pride Park exit a return to the club with whom he shot to stardom with in the mid 90's seems unlikely, or so it seems?
