Jewell At A Loss To Explain Defeat

Paul Jewell was at a loss to explain how, and why, Derby capitulated so easily against Burnley on Sunday as we lost 3-0, and we were three down in under 25 minutes.

"I have never seen defending quite like that , well I have … last season."

"I wish I knew (when asked if he knew why we collapsed so easily)

"Last season, in adversity we collapsed like a deck of cards but I thought we had got over that.

"We have shown resilience at time this season - when the penalty was taken away from us against Sheffield United and the comebacks against Birmingham and Plymouth - but at 3-0 today it looked like it could be any score.

"At least we showed a little bit of character and guts second half."

Jewell was talking to the Evening Telegraph.
