Hutchings Calls For More Consistency

Paul Jewell's assistant Chris Hutchings has called on Derby to up the consistency level to get us back up the table and into genuine promotion contention.

'We need to show greater consistency. We need to put back-to-back wins together.

'We've got to go on another run, so if we win two or three on the spin we are right back up there.'

Hutchings was talking to BBC Radio Derby.

After starting the season poorly, we went on a good run that included only one defeat in around a dozen matches. However our form has been a bit up and down recently and a fine 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday came in between defeats at Reading and Ipswich. In order to achieve promotion this season we will need to get this consistency right as Hutchings has called for, and start beating teams around us.

And Andy Todd has left Pride Park, after joining Northampton on loan until the start of 2009.
