Move For Shittu Blocked

Paul Jewell's continued search for a new defender, or defenders, will have to go on as Bolton have rejected an approach for Danny Shittu.

Jewell was interested in a one month loan deal for the Nigerian international, who has only made four starts for Bolton since his 2m move from Watford in August, but was told no as Bolton couldn't afford to lose him. Although Derby chairman Adam Pearson claims that the 28,000-a-week wages that Shittu is on were the major problem, and can't understand why Bolton are happy to let him sit on the bench and earn that.

Whatever the case may be, the fact is he isn't coming to Pride Park so Jewell must look elsewhere!
