Ruben Finally Gets Some Match Time

Its been a long time in coming but summer signing Ruben Zadkovich was finally able to get some match time for Derby in our reserve League Cup match against Walsall during the week. He marked this with a goal in the 2-2 draw and was pleased to do so.

'I now want to get as much game time as I can and I want to train hard to get back to full fitness.

'It was obviously hard work as it was my first game after being out for a while but it was good to get out there.'

Zadkovich was talking to the official website.

The midfielder was signed five-months ago, but being called up into the Australian Olympic side and then a hernia problem that required an operation meant that we haven't seen him make his first-team debut yet, but this will have moved closer after this. The 22-year-old knows that he faces a battle to get into the side, but he has said that he is prepared to do this.

He really has come back - didn't think he had a future when he left us, then Notts County and went home - but fairplay for giving it another go!
