Nacer Barazite, who is on loan from Arsenal, is using his team-mate Gunners Nicklas Bendtner as inspiration during his time with Derby.
Barazite believes he is close to making his first-team breakthrough with Arsenal and feels his loan with us this season could see the same happen for him as has happened to Bendtner, who is now in the first-team at Arsenal after a loan spell with Birmingham.
'I was not worried that Derby had had a difficult time last season.
'The Premier League is a very difficult level and Derby is a good club.
'I talked with Arsene Wenger and Liam Brady, they said I was doing really well at the club and the final step was learn some other sides of the game and the best thing to do that was to go to the Championship.
'He (Bendtner) was like me, almost at the first team. They sent him to the Championship with Birmingham and he went back there after doing really well and now he is in the first team.'
Barazite was talking to the Daily Mirror.
The teenager has impressed during his spell at Pride Park so far, and if he is as close to the Arsenal first-team as he thinks he is then his time with us this season gives him the chance to move even closer to this, although it seems to rule out any chance we might have had of signing him on a permanent basis?
