Paul Jewell was happy with a point after a 1-1 draw with Cardiff at Pride Park yesterday. It wasn't a great match, but Jewell knows this is a match we would've lost only a matter of weeks back, so that is why he was pleased.
'It was not a great game.
'Not wanting to make excuses, but both teams had long journeys on Tuesday, we went to Swansea and Cardiff were at Barnsley, and I think a draw was a fair result.
'I though the first half was average and we scored with our first shot.
'What I would say is that we would definitely have lost that game a month ago but we are now showing more resolve.'
Jewell was talking to the Evening Telegraph.
When you go ahead at home, as we did through Martin Albrechtsen, you would hope to win more often than not but Cardiff hit back. After doing so with the way things have gone in recent months you feared we might lose, but to keep a point to make it three league matches unbeaten now to keep the run going.
