'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Deano - "We're Not Getting Any Luck At The Moment"

Dean Leacock, Derby's imposing centre back, said it was a tale of missed chances against Barnsley and all it needs is a little bit of luck to come the Rams way if they are to get up and running this season.

Speaking to the Derby Evening Telegraph he stated, "We've just got to get on with it and hopefully, the next game we'll get a win." He went onto say that Barnsley's first goal, a 20 yard half volley from Iain Hume, came completely out of the blue and against the run of play, and it is strokes of luck like that, which are just not happening for Paul Jewell's men.

Leacock has recently established himself in the first team again after the Southampton game and has started to form what looks like a solid partnership with Martin Albrechtsen at the heart of the defence. It needs his fellow defenders and the other players right through to the likes of Nathan Ellington, Tito Villa and Rob Hulse spearheading the attack, to continue working hard and hopefully a little bit of luck will come the Rams way.

Another good article Adam, thanks. Vital Derby is starting to assemble a good writing team now, so lets hope that the membership starts to grow soon as well.

They say you make your own luck, but when you've been on such a long run it takes a while to turn things around.
