Jewell Gutted After Derby's Defeat

Paul Jewell was "gutted" after seeing Derby suffer yet another defeat following our 2-0 loss at Barnsley yesterday. Jewell was gutted, not by the performance, as he was happy with this, merely the fact that we again lost when we didn't deserve it.

'I'm devastated with the result but the performance was as good as we have given this season.

'People will look at the result and see we have lost but we should have been out of sight given the chances we created.

'We deserved better than to lose 2-0.

'I thought there were some good points, so there is some light at the end of the tunnel.'

Jewell was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

This defeat, as undeserving as it might have been, leaves us rock bottom of the Championship table with just one point from the opening twelve available. I'm still backing him but this is likely to increase the speculation surrounding Jewell's future at Pride Park, at least in the papers if nowhere else.
