Moore Happy With Barnsley Move But Sad To Leave

Darren Moore is delighted to be a Barnsley player but admits he's sad to leave Pride Park. The defender also confirms that his proposed return to Bradford City was more than just a rumour...

"I was sad to leave Derby. I've got some great memories of my time there. But I feel it was a job well done. I say that because, when I signed my three-and-a-half-year contract, I wanted to help take the club back into the Premier League. I wanted another crack at it and that's just what I did.

"I heard a lot of Bradford fans were getting excited about the possibility of me returning to the club - the return of 'Big Dave'. A big thank you for all the e-mails you sent in. I was really chuffed to get them.

"A lot of people thought it was a publicity stunt by the club, but it wasn't. I did go and speak to Stuart McCall and Wayne Jacobs at Valley Parade. I thought long and hard about whether to return. But in the end I didn't want to uproot myself. I said to them that with or without Darren Moore the club will gain League One status next season. Everything there is geared to go to the next level. I really do wish them the very best."
