Savage's Derby Future In Doubt?

Robbie Savage has only been with Derby for six-months, but there is uncertainty surrounding his future with the club already.

Paul Jewell signed the 33-year-old in January but his career has been disrupted by poor form and a series of niggling injuries, and with other players arriving this summer and Jewell still on the lookout for another midfielder he might be pushed further down the pecking order.

Savage was an unused substitute in the pre-season win over Burton this week and reports have started circulating that he could be moved on as a cost cutting measure, but the club have responded, according to Evening Telegraph reporter Steve Nicholson as saying this is nothing more than speculation as he was part of our plans for this seasons campaign.
