Derby Legend Bloomer Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

Derby Legend Bloomer Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

The National Football Museum's Hall of Fame is to induct Derby's greatest ever footballer Steve Bloomer onto its legends role-call.

Bloomer, who scored 332 goals in 525 games during two spells with the Rams in the 1890's and early 1900's, is one of nine inductees this year, along with former players Jimmy Armfield, David Beckham, Thierry Henry, Emlyn Hughes, Paul Scholes, and Ray Wilson, along with legendary former manager Bertie Mee and from the ladies game Pauline Cope.

As well as all his goals for Derby Bloomer also scored 28 goals in 23 internationals for England, not a bad record in anybodies books. He joins Dave Mackay, who is already part of this Hall of Fame, which is selected each year by a panel of experts and already includes the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Bill Shankly.
