Bywater Returns As Rams Head To Holland

He spent the final months of last season on loan with Ipswich, which might have left people believing that Stephen Bywater's stay with Derby was over, but he is back in the squad flying out to Holland. However this might not mean he is staying!

'There's no point in taking three goalkeepers.

'We're taking 21 players and I think you can read too much into who's going and those that aren't going.'

Jewell was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

Bywater joins Roy Carroll in this 21-man squad, but Lewis Price, the number two last season, has been the man left behind, however as Jewell said you can't read too much into this as he couldn't see the point of taking three goalkeepers with him for this training camp, which includes a friendly on Friday with Dutch Second Division side TOP Oss.

Andy Todd, who is free to leave the club, Mo Camara, was on loan with Norwich last season and Benny Feilhaber, recovering from a knee operation have also stayed behind, whereas Eddie Lewis is still away following summer internationals with the USA and Ruben Zadkovich is preparing for the Olympic Games with the Australia.
