Jewell Abandons Bramble Interest

Jewell Abandons Bramble Interest

Paul Jewell had been interested in bringing his former Wigan defender Titus Bramble to Pride Park, but thankfully he has finally dropped an interest in the calamitous defender.

'I asked Wigan about Titus' availability as it seems like Paul Scharner is going to sign a new contract, but they would not do a deal.

'It sounds like they want to keep Titus there too, so I'm now looking elsewhere for reinforcements.'

Jewell was talking in the Wigan Evening Post.

That was too close for comfort, as we are trying to get rid of the dead wood and bad players, not bring them in!

27-year-old Bramble was destined for greatness when he burst onto the scene with Ipswich, but the only history of greatness he has had over the years since has been a history of great poorness.

The article doesnt make much sense.... At Championship level, Titus would be a great defender. He had a decet season for Wigan.

I don't think it makes much difference what level Bramble plays at, I personally don't think he is a good defender and the ones that we have are better than him anyway, at Championship level or above. But thats just my opinion of course.
