Dickinson Completes His Derby Switch
Its been on the cards for a while, but finally after having previous bids knocked back Paul Jewell has added Stockport striker Liam Dickinson to his ever growing list of summer signings, with the move delighting the former non-league star.
'It's a massive move for me considering two-and-a-half years ago I was playing non-league football for Woodley Sports.
'The point where I played at Wembley for Stockport was a dream come true and now to sign for a massive club like Derby County is just brilliant.
'I had a great season, I dug deep and helped them to promotion.
'It was always going to be hard to leave but when you get the chance to move to a massive club like Derby in the Championship - who'll be hoping to push for the Premiership - you can't say no.
'It's a wonderful opportunity for me and my family.'
Dickinson was talking to Sky Sports News.
The 22-year-old has signed a four-year contract for a fee that could eventually rise to £1m. We had previously seen a bid of £250,000 rejected, with it also thought that a £500,000 offer was also knocked back, however that could be the cost of our initial outlay.
