'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jewell Hopeful Over Davis' Fitness

Paul Jewell is hopefully that Claude Davis will be fit for the start of the new season following his return from surgery to repair his knee ligament damage sustained last season.

'Claude is back from a training camp with Jamaica and is in decent nick.

Jewell is also looking to have Alan Stubbs and Darren Moore, if he is still here, available when the season begins.

'Alan Stubbs will be training at the back end of the week. He had an operation at the end of the season, as did Darren.

'Hopefully they will be available for selection at the start of the season.

Jewell was talking to the Evening Telegraph.

We are not short of defensive options, especially with the arrival of Martin Albrechtsen on Monday, but the more we have the better!

Think Jewell is the best man to take you straight back up

I share your thoughts buddy. He's rebuilding what was a demorilised squad, and basically not good enough squad.
