Albrechtsen Joins Derby

Paul Jewell has added Martin Albrechtsen to his list of summer signings for Derby, with the Dane arriving from West Brom today after Jewell had said he hoped to tie up the deal.

'We hope to complete the signing of Martin Albrechtsen today from West Brom on a Bosman.

'I would guess there would be three or four more coming through the door as well so it's an ongoing thing.

'I know we need two or three key areas strengthened before the start of the season so that is what we are going to do.'

Jewell was talking Sky Sports News ahead of his signing.

Albrechtsen had been with West Brom since 2004, but despite their return to the Premier League he declined a new contract offer in favour of Pride Park, with their gaffer Tony Mowbray believing that the incentives of a Bosman free transfer proved decisive for the 28-year-old.

Thankfully his signing means our interest in Titus Bramble is now over!

That parachute payment is coming in handy this season. Hope you go back up.

We're not eating into this that much though I don't think. We're getting a lot of players, but not spending beyond our means.
