Rams boss here for the long haul

Rams boss here for the long haul

With the Rams sitting bottom of the Premier league, and without an away victory this season it could be said it`s a lost cause for everyone concerned. But Rams boss Paul Jewell insists he is intent on staying at Pride Park for the long haul.

Jewell has the team playing better since he joined the club and astute signings has seen the goals conceded drop over recent weeks.

It`s been reported today that Jewell has been offered manager`s jobs elsewhere in the Premiership and Championship, but he is at Pride Park for the long haul.

'If I thought if Derby go down we'd be a mid-table Championship or just be happy to bumble along I wouldn't be here,' he told BBC Radio Derby.

'I had other offers and I've had an offer while I've been manager of Derby.

'But I see the future of Derby as being really exciting - something that is going to get my appetite whetted and I can't wait for next season.'

I would have been disappointed with him almost excepting relegation as soon as he came to the club.
